THE EVOLUTION OF NBCUNIVERSAL AT MIPCOM 2011
Glow designs a new space to compliment the existing presence on the show floor.
A new space that was separated by two different exhibitors presented a unique challenge for the layout and design. The key to connecting the two was the location and orientation of the reception areas. A clear line of sight was kept to enable good communication between the two reception desks, so they could manage their processes as efficiently as possible.
The same design feature was applied to both the old and new spaces, to help link them and make them feel like a continuation of the same space. In the new area, the existing concept was developed further with signature elements and finishes that reflect the personality of NBCU’s new brands and titles.
The existing dark wood, white, and silver palette was used but flipped to allow for a new patterned wall covering and additional color in the fabrics. The focus for the aisle walls was on the artwork. Large backlit graphics showcased the latest titles in dramatic fashion.
The bar is located near the exterior doors and services meetings taking place in the rooms and on the terrace. It features turquoise tufted upholstery on the front and sides, which add a real punch to the area, with flock velvet wall covering complimenting the look. A series of Kartel light fixtures were used throughout, adding to the sense of style and fun.
